Head to Ohio this May for Dayton Hamvention® 2022 and Contest University!

The countdown to Dayton Hamvention® is on and operators around the globe will soon be trotting into the Greene County Fairgrounds and Expo Center in Dayton, Ohio to attend the massive event May 20-22. If you’re making the trek, it’s sure to be worth it with hundreds of indoor exhibits and even more outside! Contest University, hosted by DX Engineering CEO Tim Duffy, K3LR, will also be in town the day before giving you the perfect excuse to get to Dayton earlier to enjoy an even longer amateur radio getaway!

Hamvention is expected to draw more than 30,000 visitors and will be jam-packed with international vendors, educational forums, product reps, all the latest gear, lots of great freebies and food, and the outdoor flea market with vintage and rare finds you just won’t come across anywhere else. Plus, DX Engineering will be out in full force, loaded up with lots of cool things to buy and its team of Elmers ready to answer your questions about all things ham radio.

EMCOMM display trailers, vans, and trucks will also make an appearance to showcase the services of ARES®, RACES, MARS, CERT, the Salvation Army, DHS, the National Guard, CGAUX, and more. If that isn’t enough to entice you, there’s also dinners, awards, operating from the special event station (license required), hourly drawings with prizes donated by Hamvention vendors, manufacturers, and dealers (check out the prize schedule), and you can even take a FREE license exam to become an official ham right in the midst of all the Hamvention action!

Check out the full schedule of events on the Hamvention website and make sure to buy tickets when you do. Plus, there’s no travel stress since everything you need to make your trip accommodations easier is all online, from onsite camping to nearby hotels, taxi services, and air travel. Plus, you’ll find info on the best places to park, GPS information, accessibility guidance, and opportunities to volunteer for the event—although these may fill up fast so it’s a good idea to fill out your volunteer application in a hurry.
