ARRL Foundation Scholarship Program Helps Hams Hit the Books with College Stipends

Whether you’re pursuing a career in Amateur Radio or a hobbyist looking to cut high education costs—Amateur Radio scholarships can help you accomplish your goal. Every year, the ARRL rewards young Hams for their participation in the hobby by doling out over one million dollars in scholarships.

Have kids or grandchildren who could use the help? Be sure to pass this on.

The process is simple. Applicants are required to complete an online application, submit their most recent school transcript (as a PDF), and follow any specific guidelines outlined in individual scholarship rules.

Deadlines for the 2020 school year are already past, but you can get a jump on the 2021 application process by submitting your application between September 1, 2020 and December 31. Transcripts must be received by January 11, 2021.

Not a student but looking to sponsor one? Individuals, groups, and clubs interested in sponsoring an ARRL Foundation Scholarship are encouraged to contact the ARRL Development Office at 860-594-0291, or can review the Sample Terms of Reference for additional information.

Visit the ARRL website for more information and find out just how much it pays to be a Ham!
