What is a Ø—Zero/Slash?

For Hams with the letter O or number 0 in their call signs, the zero/slash symbol (Ø) is an indispensable tool to eliminate confusion and make sure information gets logged correctly. The Ø character represents the number zero. Here are a couple of quick hints how to enter this useful symbol:

For Mac Word users, type Shift+ALT+O (letter O)

For PC Word users, hold down the ALT key, type 0216 on the keyboard’s number pad, and release the Alt key.

Your easiest option? Select a font that includes Ø.
