Now the only thing left is for you to register and be part of the first DXE Virtual Hamfest and DX Academy, Saturday, July 25, 2020, 9 am to 5 pm EDT (1300 to 2100 UTC).

Join Hams from around the world by registering here for these free events. Once signed up, you will receive a link to access the events in real-time on the Zoom webinar platform, or you can watch live on the DX Engineering YouTube channel.

The day offers something for every operator, from advice on how to work amateur radio satellites, to stories of handling pileups on Pitcairn Island, to a close look at Icom’s new IC-705 HF/50/144/430 MHz All Mode Portable Transceiver.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Log on for two chances to win a $1,000 DX Engineering Gift Card. To be eligible, you must be registered and present on Zoom during the drawings at 11:30 am and 4:45 pm.
  • Learn from leading Hams, including Ward Silver, N0AX, “Radiosport: Training for Public Service”; Sean Kutzko, KX9X, “Working Amateur Radio Satellites”; Anthony Luscre, K8ZT, “Youth in Amateur Radio”; Jerry Rosalius, WB9Z, “Low Band Antennas for DXing”; Ray Novak, N9JA, “Icom Product Showcase, IC-705”; Glenn Johnson, W0GJ, “VP6R DXpedition to Pitcairn Island”; and Valerie Hotzfeld, NV9L, “Operating Tools and Ideas for Becoming a Better DXer.”

Top-Level Content

You can also expect to take away knowledge you can use to boost your enjoyment of Ham Radio or keep you better prepared. For example, Ward Silver, N0AX, OnAllBands blogger, noted author, and 2015 inductee into the CQ Contest Hall of Fame, will be presenting on using radiosport as a training ground to improve emergency operating skills. He’ll be covering a range of topics, from practicing teamwork to FM simplex contests. It’s just one of many presentations you won’t want to miss.
